I think my dad took this picture when he was a staff photog for the Oregonian in 1960. Any way to find out? I have many other JFK pictures that he and/or Allan DeLay took.

Thank you for contacting us! The photo is credited to Chuck Von Wald. Unfortunately, that’s all the information available in the archives. We’re working on getting more images of JFK and other historical figures online. Stay tuned…

I was there if this photo was taken at Riverside ball park, I was personally introduced to him, but was too intimidated to talk. I’d never seen anyone in a suit and couldn’t believe his hair. It overwhelmed me as a child ( I was 6 years old).

I’m trying to locate any pictures of JFK at the Tillamook YMCA in 1960. He had a photo op with school children from Liberty Grade School. I was one of those kids and it would mean a great deal to me if I could see some of those pictures.
    Thank you for your time,
    R. Hunt

I was there playing for Rapid Car Wash. My Nephew Ray Newell was there playing to. A day I will never forget.

I was working in the Newsstand/Gift shop in the Sheraton Hotel (Lloyd Center)where he stayed in May of 1960. I have never senced such charisma, before or since ! He came in every day for the news magazines. Does anyone know… Who was the gentleman always with him? Once when he came in I was reading his paperback book (we sold it)’Profiles In Courage’ and he autographed it to ME… personally !
One of my VERY favorite memories…and at MY AGE I have LOTS and LOTS of memories ! :)
