Ryan Schneider, boyfriend Charlie Bartosek and Ryan's dog Anna at The Alvord Hot Springs. They are from Bend and were winter camping in the area in February. The Alvord Hot Springs is a roadside shack made from galvanized metal and two cement tanks set between the Alvord Desert and Steens Mountain. The sulfur spring is more than 170 degrees at its source but after it flows down a small stream and through a pipe it cools to somewhere beetween 105 and 112 degrees depending on the weather and mother earth. The springs are at an elevation of 4080 feet in the Oregon high desert region. A wooden platform provides easy access and carved names of past visitors.
