Jeb Barsh and Chendra respond to verbal commands from Bob Lee, not pictured. Chendra was told to sit at the Elephant Overlook while on a morning walk around the Oregon Zoo. To get the elephants' attention, the handlers will say "trunk," which is the command to touch their foreheads with the tips of their trunks. The handlers joked that it takes longer to train Barsh than it did Chendra. The elephants are trained to follow many commands so they can be examined when needed.
Throw the damn peanut already!
